The Bourne Experiments

This week  Ed,Ayen and I with many Filipinos watched Bourne Legacy because it was partly filmed in Manila and El Nido, has Pinoy extras and actors, and has been well received in many countries. It is inspired by Robert Ludlum’s spy novels but not written by Ludlum. Ed and I are Ludlum fans and in the early 80s ,we used to read his novels in  airports in Europe. Between continental flights, I would imagine being a contact of Bourne and going through missions with lots of guts. Since then, I remember that reality is stranger than fiction so fast track to the present.

What were the Bourne novels about? It was designing agents who were super spies and later  become rebels of anti-spy networks, relying on their own brains to defeat  evil powers. All the special weapons that spies are trained to use cannot match the intelligence and physical prowess that the agents like  Jason Bourne and  Aaron Cross demonstrate when they find out they are targets for elimination by their own bosses. I particularly like the scenes where the neurologists test their brain power and sensors. These may be movies but the research on the powers of the brain/bodymind is already indicating the  advance state of biological engineering. There is a script conversation between Aaron Cross and Rachel Weiz as the neurologist  in Bourne Legacy that virus mapping is done in Manila. This  specific service of Manila got many comments from  FB friends and there is a  FB running thread  of virus-resilient Pinoys that we enjoyed. But my point is not just the viruses in our midst but the capacity to develop an immunity to life threatening challenges – that is why friends are saying ” Pinoys are water-proof ” after all the storms have unleashed its ire on us. Yes we are super-resilient and Aaron Cross is right in coming to us for his immune booster. The Pinoys are anti-virus warriors and we should know how best to enhance our immune system to resist rogue and infectious viruses. We may not win any gold medals in the Olympics, we may not win the Nobel prize, but we will , and can become the uber, special agents of anti-virus-mapping networks and win the fight against evil viruses, natural and human. How? That is for another blog while i map my way into secret networks.

needed to ask. Does operating a well-established website like yours take a massive amount work?
I’m completely new to writing a blog but I do write in my journal every day. I’d like
to start a blog so I can easily share my experience and thoughts online.
